About PASIA

Credentials you can verify

Anyone can call themselves an agency. Here is our licence, what it obliges us to do, and how to check it yourself – for us or for anyone else you are considering.

In short: Paramount Asia is a licensed Hong Kong employment agency operating under the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57) and the Employment Agency Regulations (Cap. 57A). Our EA licence number is published here and in the footer of every page, and can be checked against the Labour Department’s public register of licensed employment agencies.

Obligations

What being licensed actually obliges us to do

A licence is not decoration. These are duties, and they are enforceable.

Commission cap on the helper’s side

The Employment Agency Regulations (Cap. 57A), made under Cap. 57, cap what an agency may charge a job-seeker at 10% of her first month’s wage after successful placement. This protects the helper, not the employer – employer-side service fees are not capped by law. That is precisely why we publish our ranges instead of quoting privately.

Code of Practice compliance

The Labour Department’s Code of Practice for Employment Agencies sets the standard for fee transparency, handling of personal data, and treatment of job-seekers. Licences can be refused or revoked for breaches.

Proper contracts

Every foreign domestic helper placement uses the Government’s Standard Employment Contract. We do not draft private substitutes or side agreements.

Personal data handling

Helper and employer data is handled under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance – including written consent before a helper’s photo or profile is published. See our privacy policy and applicant consent notice.

Verify it yourself

How to check any Hong Kong helper agency – including us

Five checks, about ten minutes. Worth doing before you pay anyone a deposit.

  1. Ask for the EA licence number and confirm it against the Labour Department’s public register of licensed employment agencies. An agency that hesitates has answered your question.

  2. Check the licence is current and in the right name. The licensed entity should match the company you are actually paying. Licences are premises-specific – a branch you have never visited is not covered by another office’s licence.

  3. Get the full fee schedule in writing before you commit, itemised, with what happens to your money if the placement falls through. Employer-side fees are uncapped, so the only protection is a written quote.

  4. Confirm the Standard Employment Contract is being used – the Government’s own contract for foreign domestic helpers, not an agency-drafted alternative.

  5. Ask what happens after placement – the replacement window, what voids it, and who you call in month three. Vague answers here predict vague support later.

If an agency’s answers do not match its paperwork, the Labour Department’s Employment Agencies Administration takes complaints about licensed agencies. Client to supply: verify the current complaint channel and link, as of [date]
